Pseudanthias rubrizonatus – Red Belted Anthias
Bring a splash of vibrant color and elegance to your reef with the stunning Pseudanthias rubrizonatus, also known as the Red Belted Anthias. Native to the deep reefs of the Western Pacific, this rare and striking anthias is easily recognized by its shimmering pink to lavender body, accented with a bold red horizontal stripe running from the eye to the tail. Males display even more vivid coloration and longer filamentous fin extensions, especially when courting.
A peaceful, mid-water swimmer, the Red Belted Anthias thrives in well-oxygenated reef tanks with plenty of swimming space and rockwork for hiding. They do best in groups with a single male and multiple females, mimicking their natural harem structure. Like most anthias, they benefit from frequent feedings of small, meaty foods like mysis shrimp, enriched brine, and high-quality pellets.
