Conger cinereus is a striking conger eel with a long, slender body featuring intricate yellow-gold markings over a dark background. This species makes an unusual and attractive display animal for the home aquarium and is generally hardy and adaptable once established. 

Feed a varied diet of meaty marine foods such as pieces of fish, shrimp, squid, and other seafood. Provide plenty of hiding places and secure rockwork, caves, or crevices where the eel can shelter. A tight-fitting lid is strongly recommended, as conger eels are capable of escaping from aquariums. This species can eventually reach a large size and should be housed accordingly as it grows.
