Donut - Acanthophyllia deshayesiana (B50)

Donut AquaNest (Acanthophyllia deshayesiana) also called the donut or meat coral (formerly sold as Scolymia), is one of the most sought-after LPS corals in the hobby. Its huge, fleshy single polyp and intense neon coloration make it an instant showpiece in any reef tank. A beautiful LPS coral for sale for reef aquariums.

Aquarium Care

• Coral type: LPS (Large Polyp Stony)
• Lighting: Low to moderate. Too much light can bleach the fleshy tissue.
• Water flow: Low to moderate, indirect.
• Placement: Sand bed or low, flat rockwork where the polyp will not be pinched.
• Difficulty: Moderate.
• Temperament: Semi-aggressive — extends feeding tentacles at night, so give neighbors a few inches of space.
• Feeding: Benefits from occasional target feeding of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp.
