The brown banded bamboo shark is the most suitable shark for the home aquarium. It achieves a maximum size of about 30". As an adult, it will need a minimum 180 gallon tank. For the first few months, a 55-75 would suffice.
They require a bare bottom or fine sand bed, not crushed coral. They also need a lot of open room to swim, not a lot of rockwork that can collapse on them. They will not bother large fish, but can be victims of larger aggressive fish. They can and will eat small fish.
