Blue Line Angels (Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis) make a spectacular addition to your fish only tank. Like most Pomacanthidae angels, Blue line angels (Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis) are a risk to put in a reef tank. They have the potential to nip at almost any coral or clam mantle.
Blue Line Angels (Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis) are found in the seas around
Blue Line Angels (Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis) are one of the smaller Pomacanthidae angels, attaining a maximum size of 7-8 inches. Therefore, their tank size requirement is less than many other species. However, we still don't recommend keeping one in less than a 100 gallon tank. An angel fish that is kept in too small a tank is doomed to a life of stress and disease.
As with all angelfish, Blue Line Angels (Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis) are only recommended for a mature tank with live rock. We suggest waiting a minimum of 6 months after starting a new tank to try any angelfish, and Blue Line Angels (Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis) are no exception. Plenty of live rock for them to graze on is one key to success.
Blue Line Angels (Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis) should be fed a wide variety of foods, including vitamin enriched mysis shrimp, spirulina and nori for greens, and angel food preparations containing sponge.
Blue Line Angels (Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis) are also known by many other names: blue lined angel, blue stripe angel, blue banded angel to name a few. It's always best to use the scientific name, Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis, to avoid confusion.
