one of the coolest inverts
They are absolutely magnificent. They live on rocky substrates, scavenging for detritus, algae, etc.
Considered reef safe with caution
Thank you to Ayden Lincoln for informing us of the updated scientific name. These are previously known as Tosia queenslandensis which is not an accepted scientific name.

I’ve had this African Biscuit Starfish for a short time now and so far it’s doing very well. It’s active, moves around the tank regularly, and has shown a strong feeding response. I’ve been able to observe it eating, which is reassuring given the reputation these stars sometimes have.
Coloration and body condition look good, and it acclimated without issues. It’s been a really unique and interesting addition to the tank and definitely stands out compared to more common starfish.
Overall, very happy with it so far.
